Frederik is a Biology BSc graduate with a bent for lab work and a fascination for genetics and microbiology. Lab time is a passion, and synthetic biology is the perfect conduit for turning an obsession to useful purposes to address global issues. As Experimental Design Manager, he hopes to gain a better appreciation for the more organizational and theoretical underpinnings surrounding laboratory genetics.

Celeste is a MSc student in Molecular Genetics & Biotechnology. Research is her passion, and with her critical mind she likes to keep an overview of things going on. This makes her a good fit for Lab & Safety manager, where she keeps track of supplies and safety concerns.

Willemijn just finished her BSc in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and has now started her MSc in Regenerative Medicine & Technology. She has a broad interest in medicine as well as technology and she is curious about the use of synthetic biology to solve global challenges. She hopes to learn more about computational approaches to problem-solving, which makes her a good fit for the role of Modeling Manager.

Helene has just finished her BSc in Life Science & Technology. She is interested in how synthetic biology and biotechnology can play a role in the transition to a sustainable society. She loves to draw and has done design work before, that is why she has taken on the role of Design Manager this year.

Vienne is a graduate of the Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences BSc. She is interested in learning more about biotechnology and how synthetic biology can be used to create a successful and multifaceted project. She enjoys writing and is a real perfectionist. She aims to deliver a clear and well-organized wiki as this year's Wiki Manager!

Sadia is doing her MSc in Biology. She is in her second year of the specialization Molecular Genetics & Biotechnology. She is very interested in synthetic biology and genetic engineering. Understanding how and why things work is what she loves. She is not afraid to step out her comfort zone and learn new technologies and more about software. This makes her a perfect fit for the Programming Manager of the team.

Jasper, an enthusiastic Biology BSc graduate, is eagerly preparing to embark on his MSc in Biology & Business Studies in September. With a deep passion for genetic engineering, he aspires to bridge the gap between society and science, addressing global challenges. As a skilled communicator, Jasper is also excited to take on the role of Communications Manager, utilizing his expertise to effectively convey scientific advancements and foster engagement with the broader community.

Sophie is a second year BSc student in Biology. She has a special interest in forensic and synthetic biology, and is excited to learn more about the possibilities these fields have to offer. With her background in Social Sciences she is enthusiastic to fulfill her role as Public Engagement Manager.

Rafaella has a Biology and Neuroscience background and is currently pursuing a MSc in Biomedical Sciences. She not only enjoys being in a lab and performing experiments but also interacting with scientists, experts, and stakeholders and learning from them. Ensuring that the lab work will positively impact the world drives her, hence, Rafaella is this year's Human Practices Manager.

Charlie is currently wrapping up a BSc in Global Public Health. Following their background in a study focusing on science communication, they are very excited to get insight into the research aspect of health-science, lab-work, and the scientific community as a whole. Through their role of Entrepreneurship Manager, they hope to meet many people and learn about directly connecting research with society where it is most relevant.

Mex is a very important part of PHAse Out - he is the one being experimented on and actually producing PHA in the lab! The team chose to work with him because of his special ability - he can grow with methanol as his only carbon source, allowing PHAse Out to use a sustainable carbon source.

Francois is a good friend of the iGEM team that accompanied them to the jamboree. During lab time and wiki preparation, he played a big role in the emotional support of the team. He enjoyed helping the team and joining them in Paris very much and hopes that future teams will also have a place for a mascot! (Not him though, he has retired from iGEM)
