Gratitude

The PHAse Out team would like to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to the project and helped us succeed. This includes everyone who helped with fundraising, laboratory support and other general support! Our team has had the amazing opportunity to work together with a lot of people who have made a great impact on our project. This project was made possible by all the support around us.

We would like to thank our investigators for helping us with the organization of our project. They played a pivotal role for the contact with Leiden University, securing a laboratory space for the summer, and assisting us with financial matters. We also express our sincere gratitude to our supervisors, who made sure to have weekly meetings with us, give us constructive feedback and advice. They also helped us conceptualize the lab work and even reviewed our wiki pages. Our external advisors contributed by helping us with the choice for a final project and advice on how to advance with our experiments.

For our general outreach we would like to thank all the organizations that promoted us, helped organize events and provided a working space: Leiden University, PLNT & PLNT Student, unlock_, OVBSP, Hortus Botanicus, Bioscience Park, Leidsch Dagblad, De Telegraaf, Mare, Manners, Radio Sleutelstad, NPO Radio 1, Agri Holland.

All team members were involved in conceptualization, background research and investigation. Ingrid Witt took on the role of team manager, managing and coordinating the team and project administration. Simon Hansmann oversaw project management and coordinated the execution of the project. David Sonneveld actively obtained funds for our project, managing project expenses and organizing meetings with potential sponsors. Celeste Bos was responsible for the safety in the laboratory, working closely with our safety experts to ensure proper documentation of safety protocols and handling lab supply orders. Frederik du Plessis was in charge of the experimental design of our project. Willemijn van der Heijden learned how to program during iGEM and did the modeling for our project. Helene Verhagen, was in charge of designing the logo, animations, and styling the wiki. Sadia Afzal learned how to code during the iGEM project and successfully programmed our wiki. Jasper Smits van Waesberghe was responsible for contacting experts, maintaining our social media platforms and keeping our followers updated. Sophie Allen prepared and implemented activities to engage the general public. Rafaella Kosta was responsible for reaching out to experts, planning and taking interviews, and helped with communications. Charlie Billiard developed our business model and connected research with society. All team members were involved in writing the text for the wiki, and the final text was primarily managed by Vienne Kluivers.
