Introduction

An essential part of science is working with and utilizing knowledge left behind by those before you. The iGEM Leiden 2023 team has learned many valuable lessons over the course of our project, and wants to share those in the form of three contributions for future iGEM teams. As the first iGEM team who has worked with the promising non-model organism Methylobacterium extorquens AM1, we share the lessons, tips and tricks we learned from handling this microbe with our Methylo Starter Guide. Secondly, we expand the available knowledge about financing an iGEM project with our iGEM Finance Guide. Finally, we share our experience with designing a VR game, such that future iGEM teams may also improve their public engagement with this handy tool.
