With LZU
During the virtual meet-up with the members of LZU-China,both of our two teams introduced our projects respectively and
asked questions about each team regarding wet lab and modeling technique, and we realized that iGEM LZU team has a
similar project with us. Thus, we set up a tight relationship with LZU team in not only wet lab part but also human
practice aspect . Based each of our module design on safety control, we exchanged our plasmids Pasr-mcherry-pSB1C3.gb
with their plasmids pSB1A3-hok,sok because we want to get more relevant information and data to make our whole project
more complete. In return,we use our own materials and samples to test for them in our lab, because we don’t have the
strain of EcN that LZU-China use in our own lab, so after discussing with LZU-China we decide to use E. coli DH5-alpha
directly to test if dh5- alpha strain.

Meanwhile, UM-Macau and LZU-China exchanged educational materials such as powerpoints and syllabus, and based on the
conditions of both teams, we shared resources and used the exchanged materials to conduct educational activities with
each other's communities for different school-age audiences. This collaboration has successfully reached primary, high
school and undergraduate populations in Macau and Mainland China, and by leveraging LZU-China's local resources, the
wisdom of the UM-Macau project has been able to successfully reach out across thousands of miles to teach synthetic
biology to children in remote areas.
By helping each other on the wet lab, project design and education level to test our hypothesis and
spread our impact ,both of us gain a lot in our collaboration.
with ZUMRI
As an important industry-academia-research demonstration base established by the University of Macau in Zhuhai,
Guangdong Province, ZUMRI responded to our call to organize the 1st iGEM Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area
Synthetic Biology Industry-Academia-Research Forum, and provided us with a lot of manpower and material support for the
event. ZUMRI provided us with more opportunities to visit enterprises, so that UM-Macau could get a lot of effective
feedback on our project, which helped us to establish a more comprehensive perspective on product development from the
production and practical point of view. This helped us to build a more comprehensive view of product development from a
production perspective. At the same time, through UM-Macau's synthetic biology oriented communication, the downstream
companies with which ZUMRI has a close working relationship have been inspired by us, and our wisdom and efforts have
inspired ZUMRI to develop new R&D directions in synthetic biology in areas such as cancer diagnostics, stem cell
research, and so on. Through UM-Macau, synthetic biology is expected to form a new growth pole in the Guangdong-Hong
Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

IDT (Integrated DNA Technologies)’s primary business is the manufacturing

research application. This year IDT works as our partner to offer us 20k bp DNA fragment for
free to use in our plasmid
design—The insert gene related to endopeptidase and NO sensor we use in our experiment are
provided by IDT to support
our project.
