Best Model

We used models and computer simulations to analyze the specificity, stability and efficiency of LwaCas13a/crRNA/miR-21-5p ternary complex before and in conjunction with the experiments in the wetlab, which helped us inform system design, simulate expected behavior before, and verify the results of experiments. Best Integrated Human Practices

We established a two-way dialogue with the world, influenced each other with stakeholders. To ensure that BreFast is responsible and beneficial to the world, we spread values and introduced BreFast to general public, and constantly collected and integrated the suggestions from different communities throughout our project, ultimately realizing “close the loop”. Click the button below for details about Integrated Human Practices.

Integrated Human Practices

Best Education

We strove to include more people in shaping synthetic biology through innovative school and outreach activities. Public values were conveyed to us through the street interviews and internet, and synthetic biology has been publicized to full coverage of education (primary school, middle school, high school, university, and village school) through our efforts. Silver Medal

Engineering Success

We achieved engineering success by two engineering design cycles. Through engineering, we finally optimized the simulation and validation pipeline of CRISPR/Cas13a system, and succeeded in Cloning and Expression of crRNA. Click the button below for details about Engineering.

Engineering Success

Human Practices

We constantly interacted with the world and gathered feedback to guide our project’s purpose, design, and lab experiments. Click the button below for details about Human Practices.

Project Description

Early detection can reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer effectively. Therefore, we focused on creating a fast and convenient breast cancer screening kit, BreFast. Click the button below for details about Description.

Description

Contribution

In terms of model, We have used a range of bioinformatic methods to enhance the accurate identification of target miRNAs and introduced a feature importance method based on random forests into bioinformatics analysis, which can be used for similar iGEM projects. In terms of experiment, the crRNA production method can be used by other iGEM teams. Click the button below for details about Contribution.
