Our Team
Fangming Liu
Greetings! I am Fangming Liu, a high school student in Beijing, China. I’m the primary student administrator for team PIHS-Beijing. I’ve always had a love for biology and an unquenchable thirst for its knowledge. I guess that, paired with my aspirations for a career in medicine, has brought me together with this wonderful team. We may not be the best, and we may not always succeed, but we’ll always see it through to the end and learn on the way.
Guo Yu
Greetings! I am Guo Yu, a tech enthusiast interested in retro gaming and web development. I've been intrigued by PIHS-Beijing's project and would love to see the work of our team turn into reality.
Xinyi Li
A cell biology, molecular biology, and genetics enthusiast. Interested in all things related to biology theory and research. Excited to be part of a team that contributes to real-world health issues.
Zirui Fang
I am Zirui Fang, a senior high-school student who is enamored of synthetic biology, molecular biology, and chemistry. I firmly hold the belief that genetic engineering is a vital approach to discovering the solutions of many hindrances in the 21st century, which is why I chose to participate in iGEM to try to join this great cause of the human future.
Yuxuan Wu
My name is Yuxuan Wu, one of the student leaders in the team PIHS-Beijing. I want to utilize gene-editing to improve the well-being of humans. By the way, my idols are Shinya Yamanaka and Feng Zhang. I devote myself to the IGEM program to familiarize with experimental work, gather a group of comrades, and make some real contributions to society.
Xinyi Zhao
I’m Nancy Zhao. From a young age, since my father introduced me to the splendid views of the microbiological world, I had yearned for a chance to expand my visions — to not only explore the various fantasies of the vast universe of this subject but also seek out potential ways to change the world with the wondrous possibilities that biology offers.
Zongqin Qu
I am Zongqin Qu, an 11th-grade high school student in charge of our Human Practice section. I am really interested in the fields of psychology and philosophy, especially in the domain of cognition. I have a great passion for these fields. Therefore, I chose to participate in the iGEM competition to enhance my basic knowledge in biology, and I am glad to apply my knowledge and skills in social sciences to contribute to the team's project. I believe that the various experiences that I took during the iGEM competition will provide assistance for my own research in all the fields.
Xianfeng Shang
My name is Xianfeng Shang. I'm an artificial intelligence enthusiast with the ambition to change the world with cutting-edge technologies - which includes synthetic biology.
Mingxi Zhang
In fact, I prefer social sciences and arts to science: communication, art, and drama. I believe that communication and digital media are tools for humanity, or rather a channel for the benefit of people in every community. The Human Practice section of iGEM is the process of producing the finished product of biogenetic engineering experiments and extending them to society. Bringing products into society and listening to more people is what attracts me to iGEM.
Zijun Yin
My name is Zijun Yin, an 11th grader. Academically, I provisionally decode to major in chemistry, and I take part in iGEM to explore my interest and broaden my horizon in biology since there is a close relation between the two subjects. I enjoy music and writing short stories in my free time, and I sometimes play the piano for fun.
