  • #4 Quality Education
  • #5 Gender Equality
  • #15 Life on Land

Our project is a probiotic therapeutic for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. We prioritized the health of people and contributed to sustainable development by proposing a therapeutic that reduces the severity of symptoms in Irritable Bowel Syndrome -D patients. The therapeutic can also be used as a combination drug for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disorders. This project has the potential to enhance the health and quality of life of millions of lives, which we aimed at. We conducted awareness sessions about mental health and gut health to highlight the importance of overall health.

Education is the most important tool for the success and development of our world. We understood the importance of providing quality education and thus conducted several public awareness sessions to encourage learning and increase awareness. We visited schools to introduce synthetic biology and its applications to instill a sense of responsibility in young minds to save and show them learning can be fun (SYNBIOSPARK). We also mentioned the importance of self-learning and explained how to utilize self-learning techniques during education sessions to remove barriers in learning. We conducted an IBS public awareness session, through social media posts and awareness sessions in campus and a survey to improve understanding of the disease, educating them to identify and prevent gastrointestinal and mental health-related disorders.

Our world has undergone several gender inequalities over the years. We collaborated with IISER Bhopal to contribute to the sustainable development goal of gender equality through “Women in Stem” which was designed to spotlight and celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The core aim was to allow these accomplished women to share their personal journeys, insights, and perspectives, serving as role models and sources of inspiration for young women considering careers in STEM fields. We also mentioned the importance of self-learning and explained how to utilise self-learning techniques during education sessions to remove barriers to learning and to be aware of equal opportunities.
