The 10th conference of China iGEMer community (CCiC)

From July 8th to 10th, we participated in the Conference of China iGEMer Community (CCiC) online in China. Here, we learnt about the efforts of different iGEM teams to advance the application of synthetic biology to life. At the meeting, we listened to the lectures of Baojun Wang (deputy Dean of the Institute of Biology and Molecular Intelligence of Hangzhou International Science and Technology Center of Zhejiang University), Xing Chen (Professor of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University), Yiming Dong (co-founder and chief scientist of Atantares Technology) and many other scholars. Through this exchange, we had a deeper understanding of synthetic biology!

Meeting up with ZJUT-China and other iGEM teams

On August 5th, our team participated in the online bioremediation symposium hosted by our friend team ZJUT-China iGEM team, which brought together 12 iGEM teams from China, such as ZJUT-China, HiZJU-China and SZU-China. Although our project is not about bioremediation, we are excited to learn about what other iGEM teams are doing. During the discussion, the teams enthusiastically shared the core of their team's project design, including the goals, principles and latest progress of the project. In addition, we actively asked questions about the various team projects, discussed difficult challenges together, and shared solutions. Through this exchange, we not only expanded our knowledge, but also strengthened our contacts with other teams, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges. This webinar was a very rewarding experience for our team.

Cooperation with iG20 of twenty teams

In late August, we joined the iG20 (iGEM Group of 20) program organized by the LZU-China iGEM team, which is modeled on the Group of 20 (G20) in the international community. Here, we had the opportunity to interact and cooperate with more than twenty iGEM teams in China, and jointly carried out some more influential activities. We released a science popularization video of synthetic biology to show the origin of synthetic biology, the subversive influence of synthetic biology in the fields of medical health, green energy, daily beauty, bio-based materials, food and other fields, and the development opportunities and challenges of synthetic biology in popular language. See our Education and Communication page for more details.
