Science is nothing without collaboration. Here are the projects we collaborated on with other teams to make science fun, accessible and to further scientific exchange.
To commemorate the founding of the WHO on April 7th of 1948 the Patras Medicine iGEM Team invited us (along with 25 other iGEM Teams) to celebrate World Health Day. FO that each team was tasked with creating a poster with a health themed quote to remind everybody why Health for All is so important.
To celebrate the discovery of the structure of DNA in 1953 the iGEM Team of Patras Med organized a video collaboration where each team could share some information about DNA and its use in synthetic biology.
Antibiotic resistances are a worldwide problem that everybody should be aware of. But what are they and how do they work? For this collaboration, the iGEM Team from Lyon asked us to answer several questions about antibiotic resistance to explain it to the general public. Together with the other teams we discussed the issue wich emphasize the importance of a One Health approach to fight antibiotic resistance.
A small delegation of our team was able to visit the European Junior JAM 2023 in Münster, Germany. We gathered with 19 other iGEM teams from all over Europe for an exciting weekend full of project presentations, workshops and scientific discussions. It was incredibly inspiring to hear about what other iGEMers are working on and to get feedback on one’s own presentation and project. Over the course of three intensive days, a lot of anecdotes from the lab, helpful tips for common issues and of course contacts were exchanged. We enjoyed the time in Münster and look forward to seeing all the European teams again in Paris. A special thanks goes to the iGEM Münster team for organizing this marvellous event.
