Introduction

We aim to promote the concept of eliminating harmful substances in the air and protecting healthy lung. Our team has developed an educational game——E.coli Air Guard! The rule is to control the IP to jump on the platform and successfully eat all the harmful substances in a limited time. In order to increase the interest of this game, we attached a broad spectrum of scenes and lively background music. Besides, the game is based on interesting background stories for each color of E.coli (each IP). To inject scientific knowledge into the game, we provide players with trivia in each scenes.

Gameplay

Game Overview

Our game is called: E.coli Air Guard

It is a platform jumping game. Our IP (E.coli with the ability to eliminate harmful substances) jumps from platform to platform and eats all the harmful substances within the time limit to win the game!

Basic Operation

In the game, you can control the character to move in four directions: up, down, left,and right by using WSAD.

Players press Q on the keyboard to change the E.coli identities. In the game E.coli can eat harmful substances of the corresponding color. This means that an E.coli that has the ability to metabolize the corresponding harmful substance can purify the corresponding harmful substance.

Also, in the game, you need to avoid the blue liquid, which represents sterile alcohol.

IP

Ammie

One day, in a chemistry laboratory, an unusual event occurred. Inside a bottle, there was a gentle and smiling presence of ammonia gas, and its name was Ammie. Ammie was an exceptionally friendly and fun-loving gas, unlike the other gases who could be quite dull.

In the laboratory, Ammie enjoyed making friends with other chemical substances and laboratory equipment. He particularly loved hanging out with water molecules because they always had interesting adventures together. One day, when Ammie met a water molecule, they decided to embark on a marvelous adventure together.

Ammie and the water molecule floated up into the air and slowly rose into the clouds. In the clouds, they encountered a group of friendly clouds who invited them to play hide and seek in the clouds. It was a highly enjoyable game because the clouds could change their shapes at any moment.

After playing for a while, Ammie and the water molecule decided to continue their adventure. They decided to make it rain, bringing fresh water to the Earth. As they left the clouds, they began to condense into droplets and fell to the ground together. The rainwater nourished plants and soil, revitalizing nature.

Ammie and the water molecule realized that wherever they were, they could help people and nature. Despite appearing insignificant, their presence had a significant impact on the world. So, they continued their adventure, making friends with different chemical substances and elements of nature, bringing joy and benefit to both nature and humanity.

This is the story of Ammie, a friendly, fun-loving, and adventurous gas character. His existence serves as a reminder that even the smallest of things can create a positive impact.

Blaze

Once upon a time, in a vibrant forest, lived a unique and colorful character named Blaze. Blaze was not your typical forest resident; he was a tiny but determined particle of benzopyrene. Unlike the friendly animals and energetic plants around him, Blaze had a more serious mission within the ecosystem.

Blaze's task was to teach everyone about the importance of environmental awareness and how human activities affected the natural world. Despite being often regarded as an unwelcome guest due to his harmful nature, Blaze wanted to change that perception.

On a sunny day, Blaze summoned all the creatures of the forest, from the wise old owl to the playful squirrel, who gathered under a magnificent oak tree. He explained to them the concept of pollution and how substances like him were released into the environment through activities such as burning fossil fuels and improper waste disposal.

Blaze shared the importance of reducing pollution, recycling, and protecting their beautiful home—the forest. He recounted stories from elsewhere, where his kind had once caused harm, and how communities came together to clean up and restore the environment. The animals of the forest were deeply moved by Blaze's message. They decided to take action and spread the message of environmental conservation. They organized clean-up activities, planted trees, and even initiated recycling programs.

Blaze was dedicated to teaching the forest community about environmental responsibility, transforming himself from a feared chemical substance into a respected environmental advocate. Over time, he became a symbol of positive change and a reminder that even tiny particles could have a significant impact in the fight to protect the Earth.

And so, the cartoon character Blaze, representing benzopyrene, continued to educate and inspire the forest residents, proving that with knowledge and determination, anyone could become a force for protecting our environment.

Butty

In a magical microscopic world, there was a special molecule named Butty. Butty was a tiny butadiene molecule, and though minuscule, it had a unique mission.

Butty's mission was to teach people about waste disposal and environmental conservation. It lived beside a tiny garbage heap, watching as more and more trash was discarded by humans every day. It knew this was harmful to the Earth and decided to take action.

One day, Butty gathered the nearby garbage molecules, including a soda can, paper, and plastic bags. It told them that even though they were small, together, they could make a huge difference. They began cleaning their own habitat, sorting the trash, and then recycling and reusing it.

Butty also ventured out of the garbage heap to find a friendly insect, an ant. It shared stories about environmental conservation with the ants, who were more than willing to help clean up the trash and build a more beautiful home.

Gradually, the efforts of Butty and its friends paid off. Their habitat became cleaner, and nature started to become more beautiful. People nearby also began learning about waste separation and environmental protection, realizing that everyone could contribute in a small way to the Earth's health.

Butty taught everyone that even tiny molecules could play a role in protecting the Earth. Their persistence and efforts changed the world, making people appreciate natural resources more and protect the environment, making the Earth a better place.

This story reminds us that, regardless of size, everyone can make a small contribution to environmental conservation, and collective efforts can change the world.

Formy

In a fantastical microscopic world, there was a very special molecule named Formy. Formy was a tiny and magical formaldehyde molecule, and it had a very important mission: to teach everyone about safety and health.

Formy lived in a small chemical laboratory surrounded by various chemicals. Although he was a chemical substance himself, he was acutely aware that some chemicals could pose health hazards to humans. So, he decided to join forces with other molecules to spread vital safety information.

One day, Formy and his friends (including water molecules, oxygen molecules, and some other harmful chemicals) convened a safety meeting. They decided to collaborate to educate people on how to use chemicals correctly to prevent accidents. Formy emphasized the importance of proper ventilation, safe storage of chemicals, wearing appropriate protective gear when dealing with harmful chemicals, and how to respond to emergencies.

Formy and his friends decided to take this crucial information to a wider audience. They organized a chemical safety workshop, inviting students, teachers, and parents to participate. During the workshop, they demonstrated the proper procedures for chemical experiments and allowed participants to experience firsthand the importance of safety measures.

Through the efforts of Formy and his friends, people became more knowledgeable about protecting themselves and others' health when working with chemicals. They learned the right knowledge, preventive measures, and how to take action when needed to ensure that their work and living environments were safe and sound.

Hydrogy

In a small mountain village far away from the city, there was a magical crystal mine containing precious gemstones. The villagers had a keen interest in this crystal mine, as they wanted to mine it to gain wealth.

However, this crystal mine was deep underground, and nearby, there was a dangerous gas known as hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide is a harmful gas that can cause serious harm to humans, so the villagers were concerned about the idea of mining.

Just at that moment, a special friend appeared – his name was Hydrogy. Hydrogy was a cartoon representation of hydrogen sulfide, and he knew how to handle this harmful gas safely. He shared knowledge about hydrogen sulfide with the villagers, teaching them how to correctly identify its odor and the safety measures to take when detecting hydrogen sulfide.

Hydrogy also taught them how to use proper protective equipment, such as respirators and specially designed clothing, to shield themselves from the harm of hydrogen sulfide. He emphasized the principle of safety first and guided everyone on safe mining practices.

The villagers were grateful for Hydrogy's help and guidance. Under his mentorship, they established a safe mining plan, ensuring that everyone could participate in mining safely. Hydrogen sulfide was no longer their threat but rather a part of their knowledge and preventive measures.

Nico

Nico lived in a beautiful city, and he cared deeply about the health and environment of his city. He knew that smoking was harmful to people's health and the air quality around them, so he decided to take action.

Nico organized a small team, including a cute little fox, a clever cat, and a strong young elephant. Together, they hit the streets and alleys of the city, sharing knowledge about smoking and nicotine addiction with the people.

They set up anti-smoking billboards, encouraging people to quit smoking or never start in the first place. They also organized health exhibitions to show everyone the dangers of smoking on the lungs and heart. Nico told children in an engaging way that their bodies were precious and should be cherished.

As time went on, the atmosphere in the city became fresher, and people became healthier. They not only started to reject smoking but also became more concerned about their health, adopting healthier lifestyles.

Nico and his small team's efforts transformed the entire city, making people happier and healthier. They learned about the hazards of smoking and how refusing to smoke had a positive impact on themselves and the entire city.

Indy

Indy lives in a colorful city, and he is always full of energy and curiosity. He knows that indole is a special organic molecule that exists in many everyday things. So, he decides to share this knowledge with the city's children.

Indy and his cartoon friends host an Indole Chemistry Exhibition. They showcase, in an engaging way, how indole is present in perfumes, flowers, and food, and how it imparts unique fragrances and flavors to these items.

They also explain the significance of indole in scientific research, how it helps scientists understand the chemical processes inside living organisms. Indy encourages children to stay curious and learn more about chemistry and science.

Under Indy's guidance, the children begin to search for indoles' presence in the city. They use their noses to detect the fragrance of indoles and start to understand how indole is everywhere in their lives.
