We were thrilled to join forces with iGEM Taiwan for a remarkable environmental initiative—a collaborative beach clean-up at Shalun Beach, located along the pristine coastline of Sanzhi District in New Taipei City. This exceptional partnership brought together dedicated individuals from both our teams, all driven by a common purpose: to make a meaningful difference in the local environment.

As we gathered at the picturesque Shalun Beach, our combined efforts resonated with a shared commitment to environmental conservation. With gloves on and trash bags in hand, we embarked on a mission to rid the shoreline of plastic waste, debris, and other pollutants. It was not just a clean-up; it was a collective statement about the importance of preserving our natural surroundings.

WIST iGEM had the privilege of collaborating on a remarkable project with iGEM Taiwan, centered on the creation of an impactful video series. This partnership stemmed from our shared admiration for the passionate dedication of local youth in championing environmental causes. Together, we embarked on a mission to document the inspiring journeys of Taiwanese teenagers dedicated to environmental activism, aiming to inspire a broader audience and shed light on the pressing need for change. Through dynamic video content, we collectively highlighted the unwavering commitment of young change-makers, showcasing their remarkable efforts to create a greener and more sustainable future.

Our collaboration not only showcased the incredible work of youth teams but also enabled WIST iGEM to participate in a meaningful exchange of knowledge, creating opportunities for mutual recognition and support. By featuring our organization alongside youth initiatives, we contributed to a shared vision of addressing environmental challenges, fostering collaborations, and strengthening our collective impact. In a collaborative effort with KCIS, we engaged in a vibrant postcard exchange project designed to celebrate the diversity and innovation within the iGEM community. The primary goal of this initiative was to foster global connections and knowledge sharing, spreading the spirit of iGEM and the realm of synthetic biology worldwide.
Our project involved designing captivating postcards that encapsulated the essence of our respective teams and projects. The intention was to share our identities and remarkable work with the iGEM community at large.

This year, we had participated in the Taiwan-wide iGEM Seminar hosted by KCIS Linkou, a dynamic platform for sharing our project and engaging with the broader iGEM community. This seminar convened experts, scholars, and students from diverse fields to delve into the latest research and innovative topics, emphasizing the significance of synthetic biology.

During this collaborative event, we had the opportunity to showcase our project. Our engagement was marked by knowledge exchange, discussions, and the chance to learn from fellow iGEM teams. This collaboration reaffirmed our commitment to advancing the field of synthetic biology and fostering connections within the iGEM community, with the ultimate goal of creating a more sustainable and compassionate world.
