EXPERIMENTS

Our experiments involved the transformation of our mutated genes into our cloning and expression vectors. For this we prepared competent cells that were ready to take up the genes of interest for transformation

SDS-PAGE (Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate-Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis) separates proteins according to size. This was to separate out our protein of interest. To confirm its presence, we performed western blotting.
