HAVE U EVER WONDERED WHY OUR TEAM WAS NAMED "UINCHEON"?

UIncheon stands for United Incheon.
We are a team of students from three universities in Incheon,
Incheon National University, Ghent University, and Inha University,
and we have been participating in IGEM since 2022.

Ji Seong Choi

Hello, I am Ji Seong Choi, a life science major at Incheon National University. I am interested in biosynthesis and microorganisms, so I joined iGEM because I heard that I would be conducting experiments using microalgae and presenting them myself. When I saw the first projects and experiments, I felt intimidated, but on the other hand, I wanted to do well, and I have a goal to conduct a project related to my own genetically engineered microalgae in the future.

Hi. It is my pleasure to participate into the iGEM competion this year again. Starting from nothing was not easy, but our team is getting better than the last year. Even though this is the last chance for me, I hope that the legacy of our team will continue to be passed on to the next generation to become a team that produces better results and a local community where students can freely research synthetic biology.

Min Young Ku

Hello!! I am MinYoung Ku, a student at Incheon National University. I learned about the Ulncheon team where college students gathered in Incheon along with IGEM promotional posters at Incheon National University building. It made my heart beat when I saw the contents of the biological blockade to treat sewage using microorganisms. So I joined this project and conducted various experiments. Through this experience, I took pride in being able to have a positive impact on the community and the world as a Bioengineering Student.

Hello, I'm Byeong Sun Bok, biological engineering major at Inha University. I thought it would be a very good experience for me to participate in a competition in which various college students not only in Korea but also around the world can come up with great ideas and introduce them using synthetic biology in various fields. I became interested in the topic of biocontainment, which I did not know well before, and felt very rewarding and fun in that it helped design such a system that would actually help society at the undergraduate level. In addition, it was a good opportunity to take on new challenges by participating in various tasks such as logo design and video production with the HP team as well as experiments.
