With the development of synthetic biology, more and more cells are redesigned into engineered microbes and used in a variety of fields.
There are concerns that spreading genetically modified microorganisms into the environment may have an impact on ecosystem and human health.
Our Solution
To address these concerns, Tianjin 2023 has developed the "Wind-up Cell" equipped with a novel kill switch consisting of gene repression tools and toxic genes.
And we combined this kill switch with substance detection to create a safer whole-cell biosensor.
