Wong Wai
Hi everyone. I’m Wong Wai, one of the captains for SCIE Pearl Delta’s Dry team. Biology, particularly Genetics has always been of interest to me ever since I started learning this subject. iGEM gave me a chance to explore this field further with a team of like-minded peers, and I’m very grateful for this chance to pursue my ambitions. My favourite subject and the one I spend the most time on is of course Biology, but I also enjoy Literature and Chemistry. Reading always was and will remain my main hobby in my free time. I hope to expand my intellectual horizons and forge close friendships with my team through iGEM.
Chen Qiao
Hello, this is Chen Qiao, the captain of SCIE PearlDelta’s Wet team. The physicists tend to describe the nature in the simplicity and elegance in mathematical terms, whereas biologists tend to appreciate the beauty of the nature from an integrated perspective. The complexity of the organisms is explained from a multiple level in a systematic theory, and there is only a no single-way causality between them. By utilization and integration of these specific levels, the synthetic biology is able to design and create a completely new specie for solving a problem, which requires both intellectual and practical work.
Zhou Yunfei
My name is Zhou Yunfei. I am 15 years-old just after June 20th 2023. It was a surprise to me that I was qualified to participate in this team and competing for prices in IGEM. I will dedicate myself absolutely into this significant activity. Normally, my life is dominated by studying, from day to night, and the night to another day. I aimed for a better future so this kind of hard-working is definitely necessary. However, I am not a person who only chat with other about boring academic stuffs. During the spare time from studying, my phone introduces new worlds to me. These colorful worlds includes daily news, scientific articles, interesting animals, and even some games. My unsettled life is a rhythm containing tensions, but more important relaxation .
Cao Jingshun
Hi, I’m Cao Jingshun from Guangzhou. Of course I am passionate in biology and chemistry, the latter I spent most of my time last year. The beauty of these two subject, personally, is the intellectual game like sudokus I enjoy when solving ‘problems’——what is the intermediate formed in the chemical reaction? How should we insert specific gene(s) into plasmid? Making educated guesses to build up creations when we have rules (e.g. dogmas) and puzzle pieces (e.g. building blocks of A,T and C,G) in our mind is the greatest fun for me. I also like classical music, as structures of its works are aesthetic and sophisticated when listening. I really want to make friends with those who enjoy Haydn and Mahler.
Shi Haoyang
Hi, I’m ShiHaoyang from SCIE. I am fond of studying and discovering Natural Science subjects and i will apply for medicine in the future. As a big fan of Biology and Chemistry, from my point of view, these deciplines are like a game of God, unlocking the secrets of the enigmatic planet...Therefore, I take part in the iGEM, mainly in charge of conducting the experiment, analyse the data and writing reports or articles. Moreover, I'm skilled at interacting with people, so i will participate in interviews, educational outreach, market study and final wiki writing.
Lin Zhoufei
I am Lin Zhoufei from SCIE. I am mainly interested in biomedical science, to be more specific I am very fond of neuroscience and spend a large proportion of my spare time on learning it. In my opinion, studying neuroscience is the process of discovering the greatness of humans since the complexity of the brain is so fascinating. That is the reason why I am interested in this topic. Despite my academic study, I am a British parliamentary debater so I am quite good at public speaking. It is my honor to join this iGEM team and contribute to society in such a unique way.
Zhang Yuheng
I am Zhang Yuheng, a G1 student from Shenzhen College of International Education. I am a Team member of the dry-team in SCIE PearlDelta. I am interested in computer science including data analysation and software develop. Also, I am passionate in Chemistry and Biology which made me participated in iGEM. During the period of developing the project, I will take charge of the wiki development and other dry-team works. And I wish I can use my knowledge and ability to contribute to the synthetic biology for a better future of our world!
Li Chenxi
I am Li Chenxi from SCIE, and it is a pleasure to join such a team to compete for prizes and make a contribution to our society. I often watch medical science popularization video in my leisure time, and I happened to see a video that matched the theme of our project not long ago before we decided on our theme. I know how important it is for people to have access to medical knowledge, and, therefore, I wish to use my passion and knowledge for synthetic biology and my drawing skills to not only help people to access accurate detection of CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leakage but also to help them learn more about synthetic biology and our brains.
Wang Junyi
I am Wang Junyi (or Jeff, if you preferred) from SCIE, and my interests are history, piano, classical music, and of course the science and mathematical subjects in school. I would say I am not particularly keen on any specific field, but rather acceptive of studying anything given. Hence iGEM, as a comprehensive competition that involves the hybridisation of multiple disciplines, does cater to my fascination with learning. I won’t say I am specialised in a particular subject or major, I see myself as specialised in the pursuit of knowledge itself – the innate desire and the default mode of every living human.
Luo Kunyi
Hi, I'm Luo Kunyi, I'm fourteen and I'm glad to be taking part in iGEM. I study Biology, Physics, Literature, and Spanish in school, I like to focus on learning medicine outside of courses for interest, and it's also one of the reasons why I voted for investigating cerebral spinal fluid rhinorrhoea in this project. I'm mainly in charge of conducting the experiments, writing lab reports, but I help with daily logs and the final wiki, as well, when I'm needed.
Qiao Xuan
Hi, I am Qiao Xuan from Shenzhen College of International Education. I have always been a keen learner of learning Biology, especially Evolutionary Biology and Genetics. I am really grateful to have the opportunity to join this exciting project in which I can enhance my understanding about synthetic biology and contribute to the society at the same time
Du Xinqian
Hi, I am Du Xinqian. Becoming a part of the iGEM biology competition team has been a pleasure and an honor. Mixing tasks in the dry and wet teams have improved my overall abilities, while designing the team logo lets me indulge in my passion for drawing. This experience intensifies my desire to delve deeper into biology. I am enthusiastic about contributing wholeheartedly to the team's success and making significant strides in the field of science. Together, let's achieve remarkable accomplishments and leave a lasting impact through our dedication and collaboration.
Xie Jiatong
The name’s Xie Jiatong and I am what people call “ sunshine mixed with a little hurricane”. Finding out my interest in biology and chemistry was an accident but choosing to pursue a medical career was a choice . I am neither exceptionally talented nor profoundly smart, just extremely curious. So I am beyond honored to stand with such a gifted team and participate in this project.
Xu Pengyi
My name is Xu Pengyi and I am passionate in computer science. Modelling and programming particularly fascinates me and I enjoy the process learning new things from computers. I am also an enthusiast in musical plays such as Les Misérables.
He Miao
Hello there, my name is He Miao. I am interested in biology and especially synthetic biology and gene technology, and also horseback riding as a personal hobby. I have always been helpful and hardworking. No matter how hard the work is, I am always willing to contribute as much as I can. Joining the team is a challenge for me because of my social anxiety, but I am really glad to learn some advanced lab skills as well as making new friends. With our wonderful team members, I am sure our team will be a great success.
