We're PrimeXplore from NTU – Singapore, a passionate community of young scientists and innovators committed to harnessing the potential of gene editing for a better tomorrow.
The professor guided the undergraduate students in conducting experiment and also conducted meetings to provide any assistance required.
Danny served as our mentor for this project. He guided the team and assisted where necessary on anything wetlab-related. He also reviewed our write-ups for the wiki and Safety Form prior to submission.

I believe iGEM is a platform to harness my passion for synthetic biology. The opportunity to work in a diverse, collaborative team offers a unique appeal to me. Its emphasis on addressing real world problems aligns with my desire to make a difference to the society. Through iGEM, I can meet like minded individuals and gain new perspectives on the future of synthetic biology!
I enjoy practicing Chinese calligraphy and journaling.
iGEM gives an opportunity to develop research project and compete with teams all around the world. It is also a chance to meet like minded people and contribute to synthetic biology community. All these points encouraged me to join iGEM team in my university.
I love watching and reviewing films by analysing the cinematography, story etc. I love to partake in any movie related conversations as well.
I wanted to gain synthetic biology exposure. This would give me hands on experience as well as a glimpse into academic research. While doing so I wanted to form friendships with like minded individuals.
I love the arts too! I enjoy playing the erhu and guzheng during my free time, and drawing or listening to music when I'm feeling down.

Becoming part of iGEM was an ideal chance to connect with peers who share my passion for synthetic biology, while leveraging upon my background in research and leadership. Beyond that, I saw it as a gateway to expand my perspectives. Joining iGEM transcends mere competition; I see it as a catalyst for both personal and professional growth.
My taste of music has no spectrum, either EDM or classical music. Nothing in between.
I joined iGEM to explore and experience what it's like to be in a research competition other than any hackathon competitions I had before.
I like painting beautiful sceneries in my free time. I also like playing all sports although my knees have injuries.
I wanted to step out my comfort zone and learn something completely different from my coursework. By joining iGEM, I am able to meet passionate individuals in the synthetic biology field and learn alongside them. iGEM would be an exceptional experience especially as a Chemistry student.
I love making biopuns! "I spin down the optimistic thoughts (cells) and discard the pessimism (supernatant) just like centrifugation!
I chose to join iGEM to learn more about synthetic biology and get some hands-on lab experience. I also wanted to network with other professionals in synthetic biology. I joined iGEM to contribute to research for a positive impact in the society.
I like running although I can't run long distances
My interest in molecular biology first motivated me to wet lab and partake in research. The "uncertainty" and discovery aspect of research eventually led me to joining iGem

I really wanted to be involved in a synthetic biology project and iGEM came up as a good opportunity
I love reading, drawing and writing! I also game a lot in my spare time, but since uni started, I don’t really have that much spare time T-T
I wanted to add something to my portfolio. A member of IGEM asked me if I was interested in joining, and tho apprehensive at first, I ultimately joined as I felt that it could be a valuable learning experience.
I like playing hardcore games. :)
My friend informed me that the team needs someone to assist in website design, I was fascinated with biology when I was a child, this competition awake my curiosity about biology again and willing to test out my abilities.
During summer holiday, i kept dropping apples and they rolled 50cm every time. I still washed and ate the apples.
I’m curious about the other side of STEM that i don’t have much of a chance to encounter with. It came as a great opportunity to practice my coding skills and improve my biology knowledge. It also helps me with understanding clients as a web developer.
