We're PrimeXplore from NTU – Singapore, a passionate community of young scientists and innovators committed to harnessing the potential of gene editing for a better tomorrow.

Tan Meng How

The professor guided the undergraduate students in conducting experiment and also conducted meetings to provide any assistance required.

Advisor

Danny

Danny served as our mentor for this project. He guided the team and assisted where necessary on anything wetlab-related. He also reviewed our write-ups for the wiki and Safety Form prior to submission.

Why iGEM?

I believe iGEM is a platform to harness my passion for synthetic biology. The opportunity to work in a diverse, collaborative team offers a unique appeal to me. Through iGEM, I can meet like minded individuals and gain new perspectives on the future of synthetic biology!

iGEM gives an opportunity to develop research project and compete with teams all around the world. It is also a chance to meet like minded people and contribute to synthetic biology community. All these points encouraged me to join iGEM team in my university.

I love watching and reviewing films by analysing the cinematography, story etc. I love to partake in any movie related conversations as well.

Why iGEM?

I wanted to gain synthetic biology exposure. This would give me hands on experience as well as a glimpse into academic research. While doing so I wanted to form friendships with like minded individuals.

I love the arts too! I enjoy playing the erhu and guzheng during my free time, and drawing or listening to music when I'm feeling down.

Why iGEM?

Despite the fact that I'm a Chemistry major, I love Molecular Biology and working with cells! As a budding researcher, I embarked on this journey to learn more about how I can better the world, and discover where my passions lie during the process.

My friend informed me that the team needs someone to assist in website design, I was fascinated with biology when I was a child, this competition awake my curiosity about biology again and willing to test out my abilities.

During summer holiday, i kept dropping apples and they rolled 50cm every time. I still washed and ate the apples.

Why iGEM?

I’m curious about the other side of STEM that i don’t have much of a chance to encounter with. It came as a great opportunity to practice my coding skills and improve my biology knowledge. It also helps me with understanding clients as a web developer.
