Team Leaders ///

Vivi Xia Lab B (Lead)

Hi! I'm Vivi Xia, currently a 10th grader at BASIS International School Park Lane Harbor. In the 2023 BASIS-CHINA iGEM team, I take on the role of student leader. I am mainly in charge of overall planning and coordination. This is my first time participating in iGEM. I am fascinated by the world of biology and would like to take this opportunity to explore the field of synthetic biology in more depth. Besides biology, I also have special interests in art, music, sports, and the study of languages. In my spare time, I love to spend time alone painting or playing cello, and out of the many sports I enjoy, my favorites are yoga and basketball. Lastly, I also enjoy studying different languages. I can speak Chinese, Spanish, and English fluently, a little German, and I'm also currently learning French. I look forward in working together with my teammates and hope that we can all enjoy and learn a lot from this special experience!

Coco Li Lab AWet Lab

I'm Coco Li from BBSZ. I love biology because it always fascinates me how complicated and beautiful life is. Synthetic biology is just another realm of applying that knowledge and using life as a tool. I also have a lot of other interests, like music, sports, art, traveling, watching tv, and playing video games. One of my favorites is probably music. I play a few musical instruments, including bass and guitar. I think going onto a stage with an instrument and performing is like going to a different world in which everyone can understand each other in the language of music. It's cool! I hope that through this iGEM journey, I can learn so much more about biology and teamwork and that kind of stuff. Let's go!

Lucy Sheng Lab BDry Lab

Hello everybody! I am Lucy from BIPH. I am one of the vice leaders of our iGEM team, responsible for any dry-experiment-related stuff. Other than academics, I love to sleep in comfortable cushions, listen to all sorts of music, play bamboo flute and watch tv shows. The main reason of me participating in iGEM this year would be that I wish to gain some insight in the field of synthetic biology, with a broader goal of expanding my vision in biology.
