Basic safety rules

1、Wear laboratory clothes and rubber gloves before entering the laboratory.

2、Wear shoes with close ends.

3、Be careful in the laboratory and avoid eating or drinking

4、Classify waste properly, don’t pour corrosive or acid-base liquids directly into the sewer.

5、All experiments shall not be conducted without authorization.

6、All act with a mature and responsible attitude, without playing around.

Lab safety

1. All drugs, standard samples, and solutions should have labels, and drugs that do not match the labels should never be placed in containers. Sort and place different types of items.

2. Regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of instruments. Fill in the usage record of valuable instruments, and fill in a report if damaged or lost; Valuable drugs, equipment, etc. in the laboratory shall not be lent or transferred without approval, nor shall they be taken out without authorization

When configuring buffer solution, follow the principle of using as much as possible to avoid spoilage and affecting the experimental results due to prolonged storage time.

4. The use of concentrated acid or caustic soda has strong corrosiveness, and protective measures should be taken. Wear a white coat, protective goggles, and gloves to avoid splashing on the skin and clothes. When using concentrated nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, perchloric acid, ammonia, or trifluoroacetic acid, all operations should be carried out in a ventilated kitchen or in a ventilated environment. If accidentally splashed onto the skin or eyes, rinse immediately with water, Then rinse with 5% sodium bicarbonate solution (used for acid corrosion) or 5% boric acid solution (used for alkali corrosion), and finally rinse with water.

When heating flammable solvents, they must be carried out in a water or sand bath to avoid the use of open flames. Do not place the thermoelectric furnace in the experimental cabinet to avoid a fire.

6. Vessels containing highly corrosive, flammable, toxic or explosive materials should be cleaned by the operator themselves at the end of the experiment. Empty reagent bottles should be disposed of uniformly and should not be thrown around to avoid accidents.

7. It is not advisable to introduce infectious cells and strains in the laboratory. If it is necessary to introduce them due to experimental needs, please inform everyone in advance and take protective and isolation measures.

8. The laboratory should be regularly kept clean and orderly. It should be cleaned and organized every day when going to and from work, and items should be placed neatly and reasonably with fixed positions. Tables, cabinets, and other surfaces should be wiped daily to keep them dust-free and prevent pollution.

9. During high-temperature and high-pressure sterilization, it is necessary to have someone take care of it. In case of abnormalities, the pressure and temperature should be relieved in a timely manner; When opening high-pressure gas cylinders, they should be opened slowly and the outlet should not be directed towards people.

10. After the experiment, the biological waste cannot be discarded casually, and must be disinfected and sterilized before being placed in a specific place.

11. Concentrate the laboratory waste liquid in the waste liquid tank, and separate the acidic waste liquid and alkaline waste liquid, if mixed together release, please adjust the pH value of the solution to neutral; Please cover the waste liquid tank in a timely manner.

The last student to leave the laboratory should remember to confirm whether the doors and windows are closed properly, and whether the power supply of unused instruments is cut off.

13. Fire equipment should be placed in a prominent position and it is strictly prohibited to move it for other purposes.

14. Maintain a clean laboratory environment, unobstructed walkways, and neatly arranged equipment and equipment. All instruments used in the laboratory should strictly follow the operating procedures. After the instrument is used, unplug the plug and restore all knobs of the instrument to their original positions. 15. After work, organize equipment, tools, and various materials, cut off the power, close doors, windows, and faucets. Laboratory Management System.
