Environmental Consciousness

From the beginning, our project has had in mind the importance of raising awareness to achieve a more sustainable and balanced environment, with one of the main ways of achieving this objective being educational work with the ever growing curiosity of the minds of children.

To bring us closer to this goal, we seek to integrate technical scientific knowledge with a simple and playful approach, capable of captivating any audience and transmitting the essential information to understand the importance of preservation, even in small daily actions.

We hope these actions are capable of bringing human society a few steps closer to the SDGs.

SDG Goals
4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all 4.7 By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development
6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all 6.a By 2030, expand international cooperation and capacity-building support to developing countries in water- and sanitation-related activities and programmes, including water harvesting, desalination, water efficiency, wastewater treatment, recycling and reuse technologies
12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns 12.8 By 2030, ensure that people everywhere have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature
13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts 13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning

Seeking to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to promote sustainable development through education, the project works both: directly on environmental education with the children, and on development of training tools and material, so that teachers are ready to work on these topics in the classroom. With environmental education it is possible to enable people to have access to relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and making it possible for them to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.

The availability of the training program in more than one language, as well as the possibility of adaptation to the reality of each country, helps with the objective of expanding international cooperation and supporting training for developing countries in activities and programs related to water. It also makes learning more fluid and useful to each one, as they will be able to see the knowledge applied to their reality, considering the particularities of each location, reducing the intangible aspect of sustainability and bringing it closer.

Finally, the entire project aims to improve education, increase awareness and human capacity on mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning of climate change.
