CCiC
CCiC (Conference of China iGEMer Community) is an annual conference where iGEM teams from China come together to exchange ideas. The 2023 CCiC was hosted by Hainan University, and our team actively participated. In July 2023, we flew from Beijing to Hainan for a three-day conference.
During the event, we showcased our project, presented an initial draft of our poster, and engaged in discussions with iGEM teams from across the country. We exchange our idea on design and experiment on the lux operon and quorum sensing module with ShanghaiTech-China, and new idea on the structural basis of capturing trace chemicals through biological means with SJTU-BioX-Shanghai. Additionally, we focused on several collaborations (see point 2, Education point 4).

SynBio Hourstory
As education section mentioned, SynBio Hourstory is a public outreach event focused on the history of synthetic biology. It is jointly initiated by eight iGEM teams from different universities, including UCAS-China, LZU-China, BNU-China, HainanU-China, OUC-China, WHU-China, GXU-China and Tianjin.
This collaboration originated from CCiC, where our team took the opportunity to extend invitations for HP collaborations to various teams. After engaging in on-site discussions with several teams who expressed interest, we initiated this collaboration. Our interactions extended beyond the completion of the SynBio Hourstory project. We also helped each other with day-to-day inquiries, such as visa application procedures and correctly uploading files. We are delighted to have formed connections with teams from different regions and made new friends through this collaboration.

Communication with BNDS-China
On September 23rd, we invited the high school team BNDS-China to visit the UCAS campus for an idea exchange. During the meeting, we attentively listened to BNDS-China's project and introduced our own project to them. We actively provided ideas for improving their project. Both teams utilized the concept of quorum sensing, so we had many shared ideas. As a high school team, BNDS-China demonstrated knowledge and understanding far beyond what we had at the same age. We were truly impressed by their accomplishments.
