Project design safety
Security Assessment
When we design a project, we conduct a comprehensive safety assessment, including: Assess potential project risks, including biological, chemical and environmental risks. Determine and implement risk management strategies, including taking measures to reduce risks and establishing contingency plans.
Biosecurity
We ensure that the microbial strains or biological materials used comply with all regulatory requirements We will handle biological materials appropriately At the end of the project, we ensure that all biological materials are safely disposed of.
Safety of the laboratory
Training before entering the lab
To ensure a safe environment for the team members involved in the research on synthetic biology, we conducted an online laboratory safety course before entering the laboratory. The course introduced how to use various experimental equipment, classification of laboratory waste disposal, dangerous chemical store and use, emergency safety measures in the laboratory, and protective actions before entering the laboratory. In addition, we have a safety responsibility form, which contains many laboratory safety precautions, accident and critical situation handling and basic laboratory practices. Team members must read through and sign this agreement to be allowed into the laboratory.
Laboratory setup
A lab safety officer is always involved in the process of conducting experiments and is responsible for lab safety.Check the behavior of team members and pay attention to safety risks. Regularly check the safety precautions such as fire prevention and poison prevention in the laboratory.
Safety during operation
1. When conducting experiments, all team members are led and supervised by experienced laboratory experts to ensure biosafety and biosecurity. 2. Biohazard disposal: All team members are required to separate waste as required. 3. Hygiene: No food or drinks are allowed in the lab, gloves cannot be taken out of the lab, we wash our hands after we finish, and use alcohol to disinfect, etc. 4. Personal protection: During the experiment, we wear lab suits, latex gloves, masks, long pants, sneakers, etc. 5. Storage: We marked the reagents, such as the name of the chemical, the date of manufacture, information about its composition and how to handle it, etc.
