Depression is a problem all over the world, but it is a very serious issue, especially in Japan.

We aimed to develop an innovative approach to depression using synthetic biology.

Through an integrated cycle of activity, our ultimate goal was to provide the general public with a cookie, with E. coli bacteria that had accumulated antidepressant components.

The technologies we have demonstrated are standardized and very powerful.
