Qinglan Lan, an outstanding student majoring in biotechnology at the College of Life Sciences, Hainan University, ranked first in the 2021 Grade Biotechnology Comprehensive Test in 2021-2022 with her outstanding performance. Dr. Zilong Zhang is an associate professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, Hainan University. He was selected into the first batch of Hainan Province’s “South China Sea Rising Stars” talents and a Class D high-level talent in Hainan Province. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2020. His prolific contributions include the publications by Briefings in Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics, Computers in biology and medicine. His research is in the areas of deep learning, computational biology and AI drug design. Now he is putting the focus on protein design, protein classification, and development of computational tools for single-cell and spatial transcriptome datasets. He is also a guest editor or reviewer for many impacted journals and NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China).
