Summary

In order to minimize the likelihood of injury to us, as well as to ensure smooth and safe experiments. It is imperative that we follow all laboratory guidelines. In particular, we should listen carefully to our teachers and professors on how to use the equipment in the lab, keep our hands clean before doing experiments, wear white coats, protective glasses, etc. Also, to prevent unnecessary mistakes that may cause injuries to teammates, it is important to strictly regulate our own behavior. If needed, we must also remind our teammates to correct their mistakes in the experiment to ensure that the experiment goes smoothly.

Personal habits

1. When preparing toxic volatile solution, it must be operated in the fume hood to ensure indoor air circulation.
2. When using laboratory instruments and equipment, you must strictly abide by the operating procedures and carefully fill in the instrument and equipment use records. For precision and valuable instruments and equipment, reservations must be made in advance and operated by dedicated staff.
3. The working waste liquid and toxic and harmful substances produced in the laboratory must be properly disposed of under the guidance of the safety manager.
4. When performing gel imaging, the gel should be wrapped in plastic wrap or separated from the translens table with plastic wrap to ensure that the imaging system is not contaminated.
5. Proper work clothes must be worn during the experiment. Wear protective gloves when handling toxic, harmful, irritating or corrosive substances.
6. Due to the use of harmful substances such as ethidium bromide (EB) and acrylamide during the experiment, all operations related to these substances must be carried out in the designated area with gloves. Gloves or other debris that have come into contact with such substances are strictly prohibited from taking out of.
7. Laboratory personnel shall not use special laboratory equipment without permission. It is not allowed to use the keys of the doors, drawers and cabinets of the laboratory without permission, and it is not allowed to install other equipment in the laboratory without permission.
8. Observe and remember the position of emergency equipment such as fire extinguisher and first aid knit.
9. Do not touch the laboratory power supply with wet hands and do not insert knives, screwdrivers into the supply hub.
10. Do not pour solid waste or toxic and harmful solvents directly into the sink.
11. If scalds, burns, chemical agents burn the skin and eyes, should be promptly treated with the correct method.
12. Due to the use of harmful substances such as ethyl acetate and phosphoric acid during the experiment, all operations related to these substances must be carried out in the designated area and wear gloves. Do not take gloves or other debris that come into contact with such substances out of the work area.
13. In the process of using the heating instrument, protect your own safety and prevent burns
14. Do not take drugs out of the experimental area
15. Please clean the used instruments before leaving the laboratory

Special rules

1.Working hour is from 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
2.Eating or bringing food into the lab is not allowed.
3.keep personal stuff carefully and properly.
4.No littering and should keep the laboratory clean
5.take training before experimenting and follow the instruction in the laboratory.
7. Liquid and solid waste should becollected separately and stored atthe designated place.
8. The operation of advanced instruments should be done under the supervision of teachers.
9. Do not touch the scientific instruments in the laboratory without teacher’s permission.

Requirements for biological wastes

The liquid wastes and toxic or harmful substances generated by the laboratory shall be properly handled under the guidance of the safety person in charge. all operations related to the wastes must be carried out with gloves and completed in a specific area, and it is strictly forbidden to bring gloves or other debris that have come into contact with wastes out of the work area.
1.Disposable products such as gloves, hats, working objects, masks, etc. are put into a waste bag and burned.
2.Reusable glass equipment such as glass slides, straws, glass bottles, etc. can be soaked in 1000-3000mg/L effective chlorine solution for 2-6h. Then wash and reuse, or discard.
3.The glass, plastic and enamel containers containing specimens can be boiled for 15min, or soaked with 1000mg/L effective chlorine bleaching powder clarification solution for 2-6h, and then washed and drained with detergent and running water after disinfection; For microbial culture, equipments can be use after pressure steam sterilization.
4 Microbial inspection The inoculated AGAR plate should be sterilized for 30min under pressure, and the AGAR should be disposed of while hot.
