  • "Hi, my name is Daniel. I've recently received my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and I am currently pursuing a second bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics at Bielefeld University. I am a generalist by nature and love to explore many different topics and research fields. I joined this year's team, because I want to do exciting interdisciplinary work, learn new methods and skills, and get to know more people who are passionate about science and bioengineering as well."

  • "Hello everyone. My name is Jan. I'm currently in the 4th semester of the master's program Molecular Bio- technology at Bielefeld University. My personal reason for participating in the iGEM competition is curiosity. I am interested in seeing how scientific knowledge can be applied and extended. Since this competition includes people with different academic backgrounds, I am able to learn a lot about how scientists from different disciplines can work together. I look forward to hearing all about the projects of the other teams."

  • "Hey, my name is Max. I'm in the second semester of the master's program Bio- informatics and Genome Research at Bielefeld University. I participate in iGEM, because I love science and want to become a researcher in the future. The competition is the perfect way for me to hone my skills and learn new things. Since our team has a wide skill set as well, I will be able to get a better understanding of other adjacent fields. I look forward to meeting other amazing people who are just as excited about science as I am."

  • "Hi, I'm Paul. I've just received my bachelor's degree in Molecular Biotechnology. I wrote my thesis about the effects of adaptation processes on the gene expression of Chinese Hamster Ovary cell cultures. I am part of iGEM Bielefeld-CeBiTec, because I wish to put my acquired knowledge and skills to good use, outside the profit-oriented industry. I'm happy that we are working on diagnostics and therapeutics, since that's the research field in which I want to end up one day. I'm eager to see where our project is going!"
