In August, while our team carried out laboratory experiments at Shanghai Jiaotong University, we met up with team Thinker-Guangzhou. During this seminar, we discussed the different uses for the EPS gene, since both teams planned on using this gene for cholesterol-related topics in our projects. This was particularly useful as we were able to share and exchange different usages for this gene from different points of view. This would ultimately help us gain a better holistic understanding of the mechanisms of the EPS gene.

  

Thanks to the successful seminar held in August, another workshop seminar was held online in September. During this workshop, each team introduced their project topics to promote the significance of each project and to promote further research in synthetic biology. During this time, teams were able to exchange ideas not only for the EPS gene but also other parts of their respective projects. This workshop allowed our team to ask valuable questions in areas where our team was lacking, while also providing advice to other teams in areas where we showed strength.
