Team Leader - Zia

Hello! My name is Zia. I am a 16-year-old Chinese-Swiss rising high school senior, and I have a strong passion for biology (neural science and biomedical engineering in particular), R&B and rock music, and painting. Ever since I was young, I've been captivated by the determination of neurologists to study the most complex human organ; and the kindness shared among the community of researchers who try to develop new devices and equipment for improving human health. Hence, the desire to become part of them, to contribute, and to help others to the best of my ability, has driven me to participate in the iGEM competition that values cooperation and responsibility. Nowadays, technological innovation advances by leaps and bounds, and as iGEM offers me a platform for responsible innovation, I want to seize this opportunity to help women around the world who are suffering from cervical cancer.

Hello, I'm Charlotte. A lifelong learner and a believer in the power of positivity. My educational background at DeSheng School International has equipped me with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation. With 4 years of being a student leader, I have developed effective communication and team work abilities. Beyond that, I love exploring nature, playing with cats, and seeking inspiration from various forms of art. I'm excited to connect with like-minded individuals and embrace new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Deputy Team Captain - Yumin

Hello everyone! My name is YuMin Chiang, but you can call me Kelly. I am a junior at Wuhan Maple Leaf International School. I enjoy reading and sculpting, and I play basketball on the school's women's basketball team. My favorite subjects are chemistry and biology because I find it fascinating tosee new substances being created and the micro world being explored.I joined the iGEM competition because I have a passion for doing labwork and I welcome challenges. Implementing the entire procedure of anexperiment is difficult, but with teamwork and hard work, it becomes possible. During the competition, I improved my cooperation and problem-solving skills. Additionally, I felt a greater sense of responsibility to society as I developed connections with the patients that our project may help in the future.

Hello, my name is Kate. I was born and raised in Chicago, and I currently attend BASIS International School in Huizhou, China. When I’m not working on academics, I enjoy focusing my mind on painting, winding down with a good book, or exploring new corners of the world through hiking and travel. Here in the iGEM competition, I’m looking forward to expanding my laboratory experience and investigating a topic that has important implications in human society, all together with a talented and supportive team.

My name is ZhangTingyu and my English name is Christina. I come from Chengdu Shude international department and I like to read in my leisure time. I’m glad to participate in this competition with my teammates from all over the world, hope we can get a satisfactory result.

Team Member - Duoxin

Hey guys, you can call me Daniel. I'm currently a upcoming sophomore. I've spent most my life in Sydney, Australia and I'm currently studying in China. My hobbies include playing basketball, sailing, working out, debating/public speaking and listening and practising music.I also made the website o.o Graduation by KanYe West.

Team Member - Jiacheng

My name is Li Jiacheng, but you can call me Gavin. I enjoy playing basketball and volleyball. I joined the IGEM competition because I'm interested in biology and I wanted to improve my perspective.Optimism is the belief in achieving achievement. Without hope and faith,nothing can be done.

Team Member - Mingxi

Hello everyone, my name is Mingxi Huang and I am from Wuhan, Hubei. I am a 16-year-old lively girl who is currently studying at Wuhan British-China School. I have hobbies of drawing and playing the piano, and I am interested in chemistry and biology.I am honored to be part of IGEM and to be part of this team. Participating in IGEM was a new challenge for me. During this event, I hope to learn cooperation and leadership skills on top of my biological and chemical skills. Also, I hope to learn about the work of a project other than academics through the work of both wet team and dry team. I will do my best to learn, do experiments deeply, and present our results well.

Team Member - Boya

My name is SeanTU. Now I am a senior high school student. My hobbies are reading novels and listening to music, and I like ball games, such as badminton and basketball. I have a high interest in biochemical experiments, and I hope to make progress in this activity and have a deeper understanding of biological experiments.

Team Member - Xingyu

My name is Wen Xinyu. A senior 1 Chinese students. Playing the piano or playing basketball are my favorite things for entertaining. I am interested in biology and I just want to learn more knowledge. In this competition, I will face to various kinds of challenges and risks. In my point of view I can become stronger and wiser in this process. That’s why I chose to join this iGEM competition.

Team Member - Yiwen

I’m Zhao Yiwen from Beijing National Day school. I’m 16 years old, and I’m in grade 10. After study and exploration in different subjects and activities, I found my interest in biology and medical science, so I joined Yiye-China team in iGEM. In addition, I enjoy reading, dancing, climbing, and skating in my free time.

Team Member - Fangya

I’m Zhang Fangya, a grade ten student from Wuhan No.6 High school. In my 10th -grade IGCSE Biology class, I delved into the unseen logic behind the biological world, exploring macroscopic concepts, including eutrophication and global warming, as well as microscopic phenomena at the molecular level. However, I have encountered limitations, such as the lack of hands-on opportunities. This is where IGEM comes in. I believe that IGEM can offer me the chances to do experiments and investigations.

JingChen Fan, also called Jason, come from Guangdong Experimental High School. Interested incomputer, biology, mathematics. Join in IGEM not only in order to get the biology global prize or activity certification, but also work in teams, discover potential interests and hobbies, feel the charm of biology.

Team Member - Ziyao

Hi, my name is Xu Ziyao. I am 16 years old and I come from Nanjing. I am versatile since I have a lot of hobbies. I play the piano well and I am fond of computer games. In the meantime, I am a big fan of Japanese comics and I am interested in cosplay too. I think IGEM is a comprehensive competition and it fits me well since I am good at many subjects. During the competition, I am looking forward to find out my interest and future career target. So just wait and see.
