Dr. Werner has been the primary advisor for over the last ten years. He teaches a variety of courses including Microbiology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology and his research interests focus on molecular and microbiology. He is proud of the hard work and dedication that the WLC iGEM students show every year.

Isabel Lee (Waddell) is a senior Biochemistry major and art minor. After graduating from WLC, she plans to become a research technician at Versiti the Blood Research Institute. Her favorite hobbies are knitting and crocheting. Her favorite thing about iGEM is having the opportunity to solve problems creatively with biology.

Kaytlyn Hartfield is a senior at Wisconsin Lutheran College and a Pre-medicine and Biochemistry major. After her time at WLC, she plans to go on to become an EMT and work her way up to Paramedic. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and playing tennis. She enjoys the opportunities iGEM provides to collaborate with others to create a project that helps in the community.

She plans on going to graduate school to get her doctorate in molecular biology, cellular biology, or biochemistry with the final goal of becoming a research scientist. Logan Hennen is a sophomore who is double majoring in mathematics and computer science at Wisconsin Lutheran College. His plans for the future are uncertain at this point in time. Data analytics is one possible career for him. He has enjoyed learning about the process and science behind this project.

Amelia Neuwirth is a senior biology and neuroscience major and Spanish minor. She is planning to get her master’s in speech-language pathology. In her free time, Amelia enjoys reading and embroidery. Christal Phelps is a senior biochemistry student attending Wisconsin Lutheran College. She plans on working as a laboratory technician for one year before going to graduate school for a masters or doctorate in microbiology/immunology or biochemistry to conduct biomedical research. In her free time she enjoys reading, crocheting, and playing piano.

Kayla Hanson is a junior at Wisconsin Lutheran College and is studying Biology. In the future, she plans to attend pharmacy schools to get a PharmD and work as a pharmacist in a hospital. A fun fact about her is that she has played volleyball for 8 years and she can speak Spanish. Kayla is excited to use her skills and work with her team to solve complex biological problems.

Lauren Rastall is a freshman at Wisconsin Lutheran College and is studying Biology, Psychology, and Spanish. Following her studies at WLC, Rastall plans on obtaining her doctorate and later attending medical school in the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist. In her free time, she enjoys running and doing anything outdoors. Her favorite part of iGEM is discussing relevant biological topics with like-minded peers.

Nathan Henricks is a sophomore at Wisconsin Lutheran College and is studying Marine Biology. After WLC he plans to eventually get a masters degree in Marine Biology, but otherwise has not decided anything. Some of his favorite hobbies are diving, hiking, and playing trumpet.

Sky is a caregiver and medpasser at her local assisted living facility. She enjoys the new scientific techniques iGEM presents that can help the community that we live in.

After WLC, she plans to obtain her masters in Biochemistry along with becoming a clinical laboratory scientist at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
