My name is Terence. A beginner of biological science with full passion! I love exercising when I am free. I am also interested in learning scientific exercise methods by studying muscular biological functions. I hope I can engage in biological science in the future and make contributions. This year in our iGEM team, I gained a lot, far more than experimental and teamwork experience. It's an honor to be one of the SZ-SHD members. Hihihi, my name is Carol Qu. My friends always describe me as a versatile person since I have so many hobbies, such as photography, traveling, painting, playing cello, and piano. Also, I am always keen to try some new areas. However, my passion for biology comes from planting and those cute animals. I've planted so many flowers on my balcony, and my enthusiasm never fades, even though I always fail to keep them alive. Besides, I can still remember that watching BBC documentaries that are related to botany and zoology was my favorite thing to do in my spare time when I was a child. It's my pleasure to be a member of our team. Hope we can have a wonderful experience and result.

HI, my name is Annie, and I am a student at Dulwich International High School Suzhou. I am honored to be a member of the IGEM team, and I have benefited greatly from it, not only by gaining a deeper understanding of biology experiments but also by learning how to work closely with my teammates. I like drawing, swimming, and listening to music. I am very happy that I helped the team with my drawing and hands-on skills in this project. I like biology, and I usually watch a lot of videos about synthetic biology. Fortunately, IGEM gave me a great opportunity to learn many lab skills and ideas for designing experiments, which inspired me to learn more about synthetic biology.

In addition, I will do my best to assist the members in conducting experiments. Outside of work, I always feel curious about things like artificial intelligence and game design. I believe there are some connections between biology and artificial intelligence, and I will clarify them by learning more.

Hi! I'm Chengyou Xie from year 12 and I enjoy taking biology and computer science. Joining the team allowed me to gain more knowledge on bio-engineering and build a wiki. Other than studies, I enjoy watching anime and reading sci-fi novels. I'm quite a homebody, and getting outside to complete things with a large team project is a bit out of my comfort zone but also something new. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn inside the group and making achievements as a whole.

Since there is no clear wet and dry team in our team, I am also responsible for the experiments, HP, and other work in the team. I not only learned a lot of academic knowledge but also cooperated well with my teammates. My goal is to study a major related to biochemistry. That's why I joined IGEM this year. It will give me a lot of new knowledge and provide conditions for the application of the knowledge I have learned. In addition, I have a great interest in science and mathematics. The reason I am here is to improve my experiences in experiments and teamwork. I like sports, especially swimming and skateboarding. I'm trying to practice them and get to a higher level. Even when I fail, I can still learn a lot from it, which is so helpful. In my free time, I like doing sports such as playing football and Pilates. Murdoch graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Hertfordshire in 2006. He worked as a Research and Development Scientist for Lonza Biologics in bioassay development where he worked on the development, optimization, and validation of cell-based assays to determine the activity of anti-cancer therapies. Murdoch completed his QTS in 2010. He has been teaching Biology for 10 years and has been teaching in China for the last 8 years. He is now the principal assistant at DHSZ. |
