Hi I'm Igor! I'm a Biochemistry student at TUM. As a previous iGEM competition participant, I helped this year's team with the organization of the project, handled the finances, and worked in the wetlab.
Hey there, I am Marie! I am a 2nd year Master’s student majoring in biochemistry at LMU. iGEM is a great opportunity to develop and implement your own ideas - certainly a reason why I discovered my huge interest in science, in particular in immunology. Besides working in the lab, I am discussing our research critically with experts in the field and I am investing a lot in our science communication efforts.
Hi, I’m Anna, a first year masters student at TUM studying molecular biotechnology. I am fascinated by engineering biological systems, which is why I liked our iGEM project so much. Besides working in the lab, I am also interested in business development and I want to get better at bioinformatics, which is why I managed both entrepreneurship and modelling teams.
Hi everyone, I am Chris! I am a 2nd year Master’s student in Biochemistry at the LMU. During my Bachelor studies I fell in love with immunology. In short, I am fascinated by the delicate interplay of our immune cells, how they communicate and how they fight off pathogens. While I was mainly responsible for the Wetlab, I also dabbled a bit in education and human practices.
Hello, I am Melina, a fourth year bachelor’s student of biochemistry at the TUM with a special interest in neurobiology and epigenetics. Outside of university I am interested in art, so I was happy to take care of a lot of the designs of this year’s iGEM Munich Team like for example for our social media. I also organised the education team and worked in the lab. I also love doing sports like running and dancing.
I am Paul and currently studying for a BSc. in Computer Science at TUM. At iGEM Munich, I was responsible for implementing and keeping the IT infrastructure alive, fending off cyber attackers, and the design and implementation of the wiki. As a self-taught biology amateur, I occasionally also tried myslef in the lab.
Hello I’m Kelly. I’m currently a master biochemistry student in LMU. I mainly work on modelling and education in iGEM. It is fun to stimulate the antibody our team designed, and share not only our results, but also more interesting science to people. When I’m free, I like drawing.
Hey, I’m Benedikt - I’m a third year Bachelor’s student of Biochemistry at TUM. My main interests lie in the fields of immunology and virology - iGEM is the perfect opportunity to connect to experts in the field through my role as Leader of Human Practices!
Hey there, I am Martin. I'm a 2nd years Master's student in Industrial Biotechnology and TUM. To me IGEM is an opportunity to get involved into project management at work on a scientific question beyond pure theory or solely the wetlab. During my time at this team I was involved in Human Practices, Education and the wetlab.
Hey there, I’m Max. I just finished my 4th bachelor's semester in Biochemistry at TUM. iGEM allowed me to work beyond my field of expertise and meet a lot of smart and inspiring people. Besides lab work, I contributed to the communication of science and our project and worked in the entrepreneurship team. After iGEM, I’m going to dive deeper into the start-up world and focus on my own entrepreneurial journey.
I’m currently in my 5th semester as a bachelor's student majoring in chemistry and biochemistry, with a focus on physical and biochemistry, at LMU. In iGEM, I primarily contributed to the entrepreneurship and modeling team. I am excited to have this opportunity to work on topics beyond chemistry. After iGEM, I plan to further my knowledge in computational biology and seek lab internships that incorporate dry lab techniques.
Hi, I am Stephanie, a second year Master‘s student at the TUM in molecular biotechnology. My main interests are neurobiology and oncology. Through iGEM, I had the opportunity to learn new skills, especially in the wetlab. In my free time I like to go bouldering.
Hello, I’m Cheng-Wei, studying Master's in bioinformatics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). My primary focus lies in antibody modelling and docking simulations, one of the crucial components of our project. Enjoy working with a team of skilled people!
Hey, im Laurin. A fifth semester biochemistry student at TUM with special interest in immunology and genetic engineering. I enjoy education young people about science just as much as working in the lab. Which were also my main responsibilities at iGEM.
Hi I'm Stefanie, a master's student at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry. At iGEM, I helped out in the wetlab team.
Hi, I'm Ziwei, a fourth year bachelor student in biochemistry. I am interested in a variety of topics including everything involving cell engineering. As one the founders of the team both this year and last year I was involved in e.g. organizational matters.
Hi everyone, I’m Anthony, and I’m currently pursuing a degree of MSc Biochemistry at LMU. Besides my passion in immunology, I’m also fascinated by entrepreneurship and how innovation is achieved through the interactions of experts of different fields. Fun fact about me: Historically speaking, I’m the last generation of Portuguese colonialism in Macau! 🇲🇴
Hi everyone, I'm Jan, currently pursuing two undergraduate degrees in Biology at LMU and Mathematics at TUM. Embracing the potential of synthetic biology, I am drawn to iGEM for its innovative blend of biology and quantitative sciences. Excited to contribute to an emerging way of fighting diseases prevalent in the world through B Cell Engineering!
Hi I'm Janik! I am a Bachelor's student in Biology at LMU. iGEM allowed me to deepen my understanding of synthetic biology and its applications.

Our PI Prof. Matthias Feige openly took us in for our iGEM project. Matthias helped us realize our project idea with helpful insight at all stages of our project. He generously gave us access to his lab and its resources. He was always interested in us and our project, making us feel truly integrated into his research group.
Carolin is a graduate student at Feige’s lab and supported us in the lab and she also supported us with planing out our lab work.
Isabel supported us throughout our project as a supervisor, both in the lab and for our project implementation. As a Ph.D student at the Feige lab her experience with protein purification and cell culture work was especially invaluable to us. With a kind soul and endless patience she instructed us especially at the beginning of our project and was always available if we had questions regarding lab work.
Kevin formed one of the pillars of our success in the lab. He was always available and eager to help with our day-to-day troubleshooting. As a PhD student at the Feige lab his expertise for cloning helped us immensely.
As a member of the iGEM 2022 team he supported the formation, structuring and starting of the 2023 team. In addition he is responsible for modeling the artistic 3D models we used to explain our project and make the wiki a unique experience.
Another member of the iGEM 2022 team that helped grow the team and supported them especially in the creation of the wiki to convey the quality of their project in the best way possible.
