Sabine Waigel from INBRE decided to participate in finding more P.I and funds. She took the offer meaning that our main P.I is Sabine Waigel
Douglas Lin contacted Robert Bates (A researcher that worked with douglas for his science fair back in 2022 school year).
Meeting with Robert Bates, gave tips and information about what we should do for our iGEM team.
Gave further instructions on idea generations + fundings

Idea on PFAS and PFOA generated.
Idea was proposed to Sabine Waigel, which was accepted and became determined. Sabine recommended 3 upcoming freshman in duPont Manual Highschool to be apart of the iGEM Team (Aryan, Vishwaa, and Priyam).
Contacted a former duPont Manual High teacher that would be our main P.I>, Mr. Zwanzig.
INBRE has provided 6.5k dollars in fundings
Andrea Poole provides detailed explanations of what our project would be like.
INBRE funded the registration fee, meaning Louisville iGEM finally became an official iGEM Team.
Attempts to contact grants, all failed.
All members signed lab forms, and got lab training. We obtained lab space.
Created a plan to follow for meetings, found a time (Wednesday 5:00pm), and started planning on raising 3000$

Team members pass out flyers and spread the word about the project (online, family, school, etc.) to raise money. We raised approximately 2000$ from this.
Meeting with Dr. Monsen to talk about reverse screening data bases.
Created Database for reverse screened proteins. Based off of TargetNet, SuperPred, SwissTarget, Etc. We researched to understand correlations of PFAS with other proteins interaction.
Contacted Dr. Banrida Wahlang.
Prepared carwash fundings raised about 1000$.

Meeting with Dr. Banrida Wahlang, she said PPAR ALPHA protein interacts with PFAS.
Started research on PPAR Alpha - stimulation of lipid oxidation - pfas overreacts this system causing there to be oxidative stress.
