In order to better fit the expectations of the public in the subsequent experiments, and at the same time more appropriately disseminate knowledge to more communities.

In order to play a role in publicity and education, the FZPt-CHINA team starts the preparation of pre-questionnaire and invites the public to fill out the questionnaire through online platforms such as wechat, public account and offline business centers with high traffic. Find out what they know about the content and ask how the team can promote the content more effectively in the future, and call on them to devote themselves to the research of synthetic biology and the solution of environmental problems. At the same time, the activity provided high-quality questionnaires, online publicity and offline questionnaire issuance were archived and recorded throughout the process, providing content and direction support for large-scale dissemination and self-improvement in the later stage.

In the early stage of questionnaire preparation, we considered various information and content expected from the public. The team also divided tasks within the team, including jointly making questionnaires, planning online promotion, planning and arranging offline activities, etc., and also contacted students in the visual effects team to record the whole process of offline questionnaire distribution activities.

1. The 4th International Symposium on Biomass/Wastes Energy and Environment(BEE 2023)

In order to keep pace with The world, the FZPt-CHINA team participated in The 4th International Symposium on Biomass/Wastes Energy and Environment on September 21-23, 2023. The conference aims to promote the treatment and utilization of biomass solid waste energy and promote collaborative carbon reduction and pollution reduction. The conference will bring together experts and scholars from many universities and research institutions at home and abroad, government departments and industry representatives to discuss the latest technological development and application scenarios, exchange experiences and summarize experience.

In this meeting, three of our members arrived and discussed topics including but not limited to algal energy/environment, biomass syngas/nitrogen preparation and utilization, biomass liquid fuel preparation and utilization, and biomass solid fuel preparation and utilization.After listening to the relevant content of collaborative carbon reduction and pollution reduction technologies and policies as well as cutting-edge cross-cutting technologies and applications, our team has a better understanding of relevant policies and is more confident in the direction of current research.

2. Chinese Society for Plant Biology（CSPB）

The FZPt-CHINA team participated in the Chinese Society for Plant Biology from April 24 to 28, 2023. The aim of the conference is plant science for agricultural innovation. The conference opened the following six topics: carbon sink contribution of aquatic plants and algae, plant metabolism and crop quality innovation, molecular basis of plant cell fate plasticity, biomass crops and emerging agricultural industries, modern biological breeding technology and application, plant-microbial interaction.

At this conference, three of our members were present and participated in, including but not limited to, the Smart Agriculture and Food Security Forum, the Youth Academic Forum, and the Youth Growth and Journal Development Forum. After hearing about innovative technologies and policies in plant science and agriculture, as well as cutting-edge cross-field technologies and applications, our team has a better understanding of relevant policies and is more confident about current research directions.

In order to play a role in publicity and education, FZPt-CHINA team carried out street interview activities to randomly interview passers-by to understand their understanding of the relevant content, asked how the team can promote the relevant content more effectively in the future, and called on them to devote themselves to the research of synthetic biology and the solution of environmental problems. The members of the visual effects team recorded the whole process of the interview activities, which provided content and direction support for the large-scale dissemination and self-improvement in the later stage.

Through random interviews on the street, FZPt-CHINA team learned that the public has little awareness of synthetic biology, so we decided to carry out more publicity and science popularization in the later project, and lead the public into the ocean of synthetic biology. The public's expectations for hardware display include seeing physical hardware, watching hardware science popularization videos, etc. These feedback from the public will also be reflected in the team's subsequent projects.

Our team's hardware equipment has an advanced automatic control system, which can realize real-time monitoring and regulation, improve processing efficiency and stability. The hardware equipment uses solar energy and nutrients in wastewater for photosynthesis, which can not only efficiently treat sewage, but also produce useful algal biomass. It can be used in biofuel, feed, fertilizer and other fields to achieve resource recycling and sustainable development.

Our hardware equipment is mobile, highly automated, environmentally adaptable, and can operate by utilizing natural light, carbon dioxide, and nutrients in wastewater, reducing operating costs. Algae sewage treatment equipment usually adopts a modular design, which can be flexibly combined and expanded according to actual needs, and is suitable for different scales and types of treatment scenarios.

Our hardware can achieve a large amount of algae enrichment, which greatly improves the efficiency of sewage treatment, and ensures that the algae water purification system can work stably for a long time. Under the enrichment condition, the content of nitrogen and phosphorus in the sewage is more abundant, and the growth and renewal iteration rate of algae will be accelerated due to the abundance of nutrients, thus avoiding the problem of aging of algae and the decrease of water purification rate.
