Collaboration

Throughout the project, BUCT has established partnerships with multiple iGEM teams. Among them, LZU-China and BUCT-China are our specific partners, with whom we have cooperated in different aspects this year to varying degrees. In addition, we have also participated in the exchange meetings of the iGEM community, such as joint scientific activities involving 5 teams and CCiC. During these meetings, we exchanged information with other teams and achieved good cooperation results.

In the iGEM 2023 competition, BUCT (Beijing University of Chemical Technology) and LZU-CHINA (Lanzhou University China Team) maintained a highly productive collaborative relationship throughout.

In cooperation with LZU-China, we participated in the production of iG20 educational video, which recorded the elegance of many teams, expanded the influence of iGEM, and was the crystallization of many iGEM people. We work with other teams to improve it. We hope this video will play a role in the future.

Together, we explored the potential of gut probiotic therapy to assist patients and achieved remarkable results. The BUCT team focused on alleviating symptoms in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, while LZU-CHINA addressed high cholesterol issues. Both teams engaged in deep cooperation, sharing experiences, knowledge, and resources to investigate how probiotics could enhance the treatment approaches for these two conditions. In the areas of human practices and education, the collaboration between BUCT and BUCT-China teams was outstanding. We jointly planned and executed a series of human practice activities aimed at combining scientific research with social interaction to convey scientific information to the public.

In education, we held a debate contest with the theme of synthetic biology, popular science live broadcast and offline education; With regard to HP, we visited Director Cai together, joined together to participate in the university exchange meeting in Beijing, CCiC, and we will go to Paris together. On June 30th, BUCT participated in the Beijing Regional iGEMer Exchange Meeting held at Beijing Normal University. This conference brought together five teams, namely BNU-China, BUCT, BUCT-China, CAU-China, and Peking, with a total of more than fifty participants attending in person. Each team introduced their respective projects and engaged in free discussions where they offered suggestions and exchanged ideas with one another. During the meeting, participants engaged in open and candid discussions, allowing for the exchange of thoughts and the sharing of experiences with teams from different backgrounds. This event created opportunities for potential future collaborations among the teams.

From July 8 to 10, we attended the 10th China iGEMer Exchange Conference, where we introduced the project of this season and communicated with other teams. At this meeting, we gained a lot of valuable experience through close communication and cooperation with other teams.
