Melanoma, characterized by its aggressive nature and high incidence, results in numerous cases and deaths on a global basis. Globally, 324,635 new cases of melanoma and 57,043 new deaths were projected in 2020.
Most patients who die from melanoma often overlook or fail to recognize its potential harm in the early stages, and by the time of diagnosis, it is already difficult to cure in the advanced stages.
Our "Knight-errant" - E.coli Nissle 1917(EcN) , wields a self-designed short peptide as its "sword" to cut down melanoma.
Our project equips EcN with temperature - controlled regulatory system, and uses arabinose to control their growth.
